The Sharp developer site (http://developer.sharpsec.com/) is now providing Intent through it's developer site. Anybody with the SL5000D can now replace their OS with Intent. You can find the download in the Java section.

Just be completely aware that loading Intent/DE will void your warranty for the device.

It bugs me that Sharp never mention AmigaDE.

Don't get too excited. All they are providing is a downloadable 'evaluation' version of the intent SDK and version 1.1.1 at that. And, yet again they don't even mention the name Amiga. 'Makes you wonder a little, don't it ?!

Nikkei published in Japan on 11 March that SAP and Sharp are working together on an end-to-end solution using the Zaurus connected to a remote SAP Java database. Nikkei quotes Sharp as stating it would be using intent for Zaurus in the enterprise space, and that it is up to ten times faster than the nearest competition at running Java applications. Sharp was demonstrating this at JavaOne and CeBIT. :-D
