As you may know, the Palm handheld device uses a 68K (like the original Amiga hardware) compatible CPU. In an effort to move AROS to the 68K, several members of the AROS team worked towards running AROS on a Palm handheld device.
It now runs on the Palm device (though there are still many bugs and palm specific issues to be worked out). This has paved the way for an Amiga Classic version... watch this space...
To see a screen shot of this early alpha of AROS Palm running have a look at www.ahsodit.com/aros/arosnews.html

To make a point clear now before we get another thread like we got on ANN, AROS is shown running on a Palm emulator called XCoPilot.
These emulators are usually more stickly than the real hardware to get things running, so it should run fine on a Palm.
But at the moment, nothing is optimised for the Palm hardware platform in any way, so it is best to leave it for a while.
Photos of it running on real hardware should appear soon as well.
Congrats to the people involved, a good show.

Good Point!!!

cool, but wierd. It's probably just the monochrome display. I wonder if they'll do a version for the pocket pc, I like color.
Still, amazing.

Maybe Ainc could work with AROS and get the DE running on it :)
That would be sweet. But it guess AROS is kinda in competition with them now ... so maybe not? :)

Don't worry!!! AROS is free and open source. We do not intend to chage for an OS!!!!
The idea of having to pay for an OS is alien to me, and the rest of the AROS team.
Best wishes
