Microsoft aspires to be a responsible industry leader, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer has told the opening of a technology show.
Read the whole story at the CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/industry/03/12/cebit.ballmer/index.html) website.

If they want to be 'responsible', they should pay restitution to every company they have ever harmed.
Actually they would have to change their entire buisness structure to the point they might as well shut down. What a farce

This stinks sooo bad of marketing hype.
Microsoft was founded on "dishonest methods". How do they expect to change now?
Can't wait until the day that Microsoft's dominance is broken!

I thought I had posted a comment here. But I do not see it. Well I am using Internet Explorer so that might be the case. Hmm confusing Coder here. I will say it again:
Yeah right! And look at the photo. Like Bill told Steve, you better smile this time Steve!!!

However, Ballmer acknowledged that Microsoft "has no perfect track record" in the areas of trustworthiness.
Wow this has got to be the first time someone from Microsoft says something that is true..
-
Anyone notice the poll that shows 69% do not trust M$?
-
I don't find Mr. Ballmer's smile very trustworthy..
-MG
-
Current results of the poll as of 5:30 GMT -
Trustworthy - 19%
Wouldn't trust them to inflate a dingy - 81%
That's still 19% too many!!
Cheers,

I don't find Mr. Ballmer's smile very trustworthy..
Looks like someone asked who pulled his finger and Steve is saying.. not me.

Did he jump around like a maniac again when he told the audience this? He is a great example of a nut case!
-
I always wondered why none of the mental institutes claimed they lost someone that fitted the discription of Ballmer.

To me it looks like someone took some image morphing software and painted the "smile" on.
-- Frantically looking for the web site that proves Fester Addams is Steve Ballemer.

I couldn't find the original articles on the register but I did find a similar page with the MonkeyBoy dance stuff... if nothing else at least he (S.B.) is funny to look at.

I'll be happy when MS is dead, till then I'll continue to count my chickens.

And Pigs will fly! :-o

I'll trust Microsoft to be dishonest and immoral. I don't see how more trust than that would be possible.

Hey hey hey hey HEY!...... This could be serious! M$ may be turning over a new leaf! Smoe of these comments are mearly misguided an malltious. Microsoft have perfectly good reasons to change and become more responsible. Like just the other day.. I say Steve Bullimore help an old lady accross the street.. may have been straight in the path of an oncomming tram, but its the thought that counts. And even Bill Gates has plenty to gain, For instance, there is mountain views in hell that he would like to have his massive home re-built so he can see, and you need powerfull allies to get that sort of real estate.
But most importantly, we should give Steve and Bill a chance.. about thirty seconds should just about do it.. make sure you have your shotguns loaded when you let them go though, as they may attack you instead of taking that 30 second head start.
