Dave Haynie's selling some Amiga-related collector's items through eBay again. I would love to see them sell sketches and drawings from that period. :-D Pieces of papers were history has been written down on. Or that pink bunny costume someone had on. I think they dressed up like that.

Do you think Dave would know where to get an A3000UX? And how much you would pay for such a beast *cough* yes beast...

Does any one know if you can use Amiga Unix on any A3000? Or does the A3000UX have special hardware? I know it has a network card, well i think it does anyway.. That is one mahcine iw oudl love to have, prolly more so than an A1200, just because it runs Unix :)...

Well it has the spiffy letters UX next to the A3000 on the case, if you consider that custom hardware ;-)  But seriously IIRC the unix for Amiga was very sh'tty, you'd be better off using a modern Linux68k.

Uh guys....the A3000UX was nothing more than a regular A3000 desktop with a network card and a graphic card (name escapes me at the moment).  As to the Unix version, it was actually quite a good implementation.  I used it quite a bit while in high school and college.  I never had the UX but bought the tape and a drive to install it.  Never had any trouble with it.  If anything, the system ran just a tad slow but you had two very powerful operating systems on one computer, WB2.0 and Unix System 5, release 4.  As a matter of fact, at one time, Sun Microsystems was in negotiation with Commodore to license the A3000UX as a low end unix workstation.
