Post by: System on May 11, 2001, 05:55:33 PM
The word on the street is Intel (http://www.intel.com) is planning to release (http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,5082743,00.html?chkpt=zdnn_rt_latest) the first batch Itanium chips at the end of this month.  Two or three versions of the chip are expected, a 733Mhz and 800Mhz version with 2megs cache for around $1000-$2000US and a more expensive 800Mhz version with 4megs of cache.  Amiga has yet to mention if they plan an Itanium compatible translator.
