Title: Amiga Active mentions two AmigaDE Apps
Post by: System on March 14, 2001, 11:53:56 AM
The latest (down here in Australia, anyway!) issue of AmigaActive also mentions a program for AmigaOne called Papyrus Office which looks promising from the snapshots.  A demo is available at their  website (http://www.rom-logicware.com/e_start.htm).

They also mention the Espial Escape web browser which will be available for the A1. It is a full-featured web browser, written entirely in Java, and they decribe it as "pretty decently fast". That may be a good sign for the Java office application.
Incidentally, even though it is said to contain JS1.4, frames, forms, tables, caching, cookies, mime-type loaders, HTTPS, TSL1.0, SSL2.0 and 3.0, CSS, DHTML, XML and WAP support, Escape is STILL less than 1mb! Can you say MicroSoft bloat?  :-) A demo is available at their website (http://www.espial.com/main/page?view=p-escp_main).

It requires a free registration as a developer.
