Post by: System on March 09, 2001, 07:49:07 PM
Hit by the slowdown (http://techrepublic.yellowbrix.com/pages/techrepublic/Story.nsp?story_id=18798927&ID=techrepublic&category=TechRepublic&adpage=home) in the PC market, chipmaking giant Intel Corp (http://www.intel.com). Intel said it was now expecting lower revenues for the first quarter and would cut about 5,000 jobs during the next nine months.
Intel blamed the poorer-than-expected forecast on the economic slowdown hitting the PC market and spreading to other areas like networking, servers and communications products.
