Title: Amiga CDFS
Post by: adz on September 21, 2003, 12:35:53 PM
Hi all, I'm stuck, I downloaded AmiCDFS 2.40 from Aminet, I transferred it to my A2000 using WinUAE, now I just need to know what to do with it. I know Workbench 3.1  is seeing the drive because when I double-click CD0, it comes up "CD0 already mounted" but I can't read any CD's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked if the device ID is the correct one? If your CD is hooked up as Unit = 1 and your mountlist (SYS:Devs/DosDrivers/CD0) says Unit = 0 the Workbench will return that CD0 is already mounted, and it actually is. It's just directing the filesystem to a device that isn't there!

Mail me if you need more info :-)

check the devs/dosdrivers/CD0 mountlist and see if the DEVICE= (scsi.device or harddisk.device etc.) and UNIT= (your cd scsi id)
are set right for your system. (as per doctorq)

Ahh, that could be it, my HD is set to ID 0 and my CD-ROM is set to ID 1, but what do I do with all the stuff that came with AmiCDFS 2.4?

copy the contents of C, L, LIBS into their
same drawers in DH0:
Edit CD0: and copy into devs/dosdrivers.
Read the guide with the archive. ;-)

Its working  :-)  :-)  :-) only problem is, I now have to have a CD in the drive, otherwise the system just sits there for ages before it will boot, also, if I take a CD out, it won't auto dismount, it must think the CD-ROM is a harddrive, is that right? Or have I royally stuffed it up? BTW, thanks for all your help  :-D

Man, why don't you read the docs ? It's all written in there !

Edit the CD0 file again. Go down to the STARTUP= field and add the parameter DC=3 to it. There are also comments on the parameters in the mount file.

Bye,
