Title: Am(IRC) Exploit, And How To Fix
Post by: System on December 09, 2000, 12:26:18 PM
As normal, the script kiddies came out in force for the IRC conferences and it seems they have found a new exploit.  Well, heres the info on what causes it and how to fix (AmIRC) it.

The attacks consist of an invite to a long channel name, this will instantly crash AmIRC and other associated clients.  How to fix?  Simply go through your binary and change the word "INVITE" to a random set of characters.  No doubt VaporWare will get this information by the end of the weekend and have a proper fix soon.  Dont forget to backup your exe if you try this.
