Hi.
I remember reading at least twice in this forum, that some people are using the scsi.device instead of the atapi.device, in order to access an ATAPI drive (ie. to burn cd/dvds) and that they obtain better speeds from this.
I'm using the latest version of IDEFix (scsi.device v119.17) and i can't figure out how to do this.
FindCD can't detect any ATAPI drive when i select scsi.device. Same goes for MakeCD and BurnIT. Drives are being detected only by the atapi.device.
Any tips please?

Using 3.9 - there scsi.device = atapi.device.

Right. I knew that the scsi.device of AOS 3.9 can be used for this purpose, but i would be surprised if i achieve better performance with it. Afaik, it's slower, not faster than the IDEFix version. I have never compare them myself though. Perhaps i should.

I have used both and didn't find any difference. Probably they are the same in operation. The same with Idefix version, never felt a speed difference. No wonder because the hardware is so outdated - I use them in A4000.
