Hey guys, I just got a free Atari 1040STE and I have a boatload of disk images. Is there a utility on the Amiga that can write the .st disk images back onto real floppies??

funny I just picked up a 1040STe too from a local garage sale and its in excellent shape...I'm curious about transferring stuff from my Miggy too so that I don't have to pull out an old dos box...

You might be able to write .st =720k images to mfm.device on like pc0: but you would need to know the sector size of the .st image and then how to write it to pc0: Does the amiga have a command like dd ?

There isn't but there is one for Windows XP called Floppy Image, it allows to write any disk image to a real 720k disk, even the larger custom format images. Works great!

Yup, if you have a floppy disk on your PC you can write back almost any Atari ST disk. The hard work was done by Simon Owen who created the floppy disk kernel driver.

The Atari front end (Floimg) is written by ppera, unfortunately he has decided that because of a few arguments with fellow AtariST community members to withdraw into his own little world.
