Hi again,
The next problem I have to solve is how to connect the CF card to my PC. Unfortunately I do not have any where to connect a CF card on my PC.
Some people suggested I should buy a PCI -> CF adapter. However what about a USB -> CF adapter?
Would I still be able to format the CF card and this be recognised by WinUAE?
Regards,

Me! Oh pick me! Me! Meee! Meeeeeeee!!!
There are a zillion USB card readers that will enable your PC to read CF cards available on the Internet and at places like Staples, Currys and PC World :)

Yes, but are there any known problems when it comes for WinUAE to recognise the the CF card as an Amiga Harddisk?
-
- Start winuae with the disableharddrivesafetycheck option ,for example "C:\Program Files\Cloanto\Amiga Forever\Emulation\WinUAE\winuae.exe" -disableharddrivesafetycheck
(EDIT: under vista you have to start winuae as an administrator)
- Load your config and goto the harddrive section and choose addharddrive. Select the cf card. Don't forget to select the read/write option.
- Start emulation.

Thank you for the information. That is really helpful.
I read on some other threads that I'll need to format the CF card. Is that done from WinUAE as well or directly from Windows?
-
Well, one time I had a brand new CF card that wouldn't work with WinUAE.
I had to do a full format with Windows for UAE to recognize it.
Once it is FAT-formatted, and you've started WinUAE, you can use HDToolbox to
partition and format it with an Amiga filesystem.
Set the SCSI_DEVICE_NAME tooltype of HDtoolbox to uaehf.device.

HDToolbox
From what I read on the internet this should be on Commodore Workbench 3.1 Installation Disk right?
Thanks again for all the help. I still do not have all the things in my hands so cannot really test this (although I do have Workbench 3.1 disk) but really looking forward to make this work :)

Yes, it's on the 3.1 install disk.

Thank you for your help :) I'll wait for everything to arrive and then try things out.
