Hi, I'm planning a Sam purchase from Amigakit within the next couple of months even though I haven't found any real good reviews of it anywhere. I understand that I will be able to use it with a wireless network which is great and I plan on doing but was wondering what other Sam owners think about the web Browser that comes with it? Does it work well with Google, Yahoo, and other web pages?
ps. Out of curiosity could the Sam be made into a laptop?

You can always upgrade to the latest version of OWB which is so far the best amiga browser and works with nearly all webpages.

I'm not familiar with OWB. Does it run on any Amiga?

OWB is available for OS4, MorphOS and AROS. There is also an older port for OS3 but its not really useable.

I'm assuming that the Sam version of AmigaOS 4.1 is similar to the AmigaOne version. If so, there should be two web browsers, IBrowse OEM version 2.4 and an older version of Origyn Web Browser (OWB).
The current version of OWB is OWB 3.13 and is available for download at OS4depot. OWB is updated regularly.
OWB 3.13 works fine on all the web sites that I visit regularly. I use OWB 3.13 for most of my web browsing.
I am posting this post with IBrowse OEM version 2.4. The new amiga.org site looks different than it would with a more modern web browser (like OWB), but the links work fine. This version of IBrowse works fine on amigaworld.net and amigans.net.
Out of curiosity could the Sam be made into a laptop?
Apparently, the Sam motherboard is the wrong shape to fit in a standard laptop case.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Origyn Web Browser is updated regularly. I have been using OWB for more than a year now and have seen many updates. The current version OWB 3.13 is very nice. I also have OWB 3.7 as a fall back version.
NetSurf is another modern browser that is still under development. I have NetSurf 2.0.
I also use IBrowse OEM version 2.4 and AWeb APL Lite (also known as AWebPPC). IBrowse and AWeb were my main browsers until OWB came along. Then as OWB and NetSurf improved, I was using them more than the older browsers.

I have a Sam Flex and I have to admit OWB 3.13 is the best one out there. As someone else mentioned, most sites work, and it rarely crashes (especially when compared to version 3.12). To be honest there is still room for improvement, I find it a but 'sluggish' and sites don't render as fast as I'd like it to. But still, its going to the right direction!
