I really like the changes that have been put in place since yesterday. Kudos to Wayne!

Thanks very much. I honestly tried to tell everyone that it's coming, but everyone seemed to freak out and start "abandoning ship" to other forums.
I had not intended to release the new home page until it was done, but panicked and impatient users being what they are :)
Just be patient. More changes are coming, hence the "beta" in the logo.

I'm not sure why anyone is freaking out about the changes here! It looks and feels pretty similar to me?
-
Agreed.. I like this much better..
-
I like it too. I particularly like the new logo in the Topaz typeface.
-
Awesome job Wayne! I look forward to seeing the other changed you mentioned, as your personal time permits. Thanks for all your hard work!
-
I jumped on pre-beta and was a little confused with the layout. NOW, on the other hand, things feel like things never really changed. Me loves it!
PS- now I just need to find my blasted avitar pic again and upload it...

Just in case anyone isn't aware of what the little orange boxes (with a tiny arrow pointing upwards) on the top right of each title bar are for.
They allow you to show or hide sections on the page.
For instance if you dont want to see your avatar at the top of the front page you can collapse that section thusly:

I hope that was useful for someone if it wasn't already glaringly obvious. :)

Thanks Gadget. One for the FAQ.. :)

Your'e welcome.
While you're at it please add this little nugget (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=454760&postcount=12) to the Tutorials/FAQ section as well. :)

Yeah it felt little confusing in the beginning but this is great :)

Agreed, the site looks fantastic guys :-)
-
Well done Wayne and all others involved.
-
WOW!!! A.org is looking hot!!!! :)
-
Looks good here on IE6 Wayne (all I can use at work). Nicely done and hopefully the "panickers" will calm down now. :-)

I like the new site. Sure, it will take a little time to get used to but I guess that within 2 weeks from now I'm used to it. In a month's time, it would be fun to have a little 'contest' by daring Amiga.org visiters to get their paint-packages and draw the old interface from memory. I'd be surprised if a lot of contenders draw up an exaxt copy.

Interesting idea, but it seems that most of them grabbed screenshots of pretty much every single page out of fear of losing something... :)

Probably not for this thread, but it seems there's an error in the marketplace forum... as soon as you enter into it, a lot of html? code shows at the top of the page.. with no format. Just my 0.02...
Cheers

You're the second person reporting this, but I can't seem to recreate it. What browser/platform/version are you using?

The only time anything like this happened to me was with IE 5.x. It was also quite random in that refreshing the page would cause it to render correctly half the time.

Excelllent job, Wayne! I was in yesterday and looking around, this morning it looks like the old place with a newer brighter front!

Hi Wayne,
since I'm at work right now, I'm using Windows XP and IE 7.0.5730... this could be the reason for the problem hehe! Everything else seems to be working just fine.
BTW, I haven't found an option to get an instant notification for new threads started in a forum, but only daily and weekly reports... is this option really not available anymore?
Thank you for your hard work in the new site, it's looking good, what a shame IBrowse can't display it ok as before though, hope to see soon the remarining parts of it, like photo gallery and news in the front page (not just a forum).
Cheers,
Dragster

I have managed to come across this now, I am using window vista 64 and ie8, clicking onto the marketplace link gives all the formatting info and then then forum page below it , however if you click directly onto the thread it displays correctly
-
Nice work, so far things look fantastic!
-
Kudos to Wayne - me like !

I think the new front page looks pretty good, as well. I was a little nervous, but I think it looks just as crisp and clean as the old one.
-
I'm impressed with look and feel. I know over time the site will be tweaked to its once high pinnacle of greatness.
