Title: Difficulty with changing avatar & posting
Post by: Viking on May 11, 2009, 09:18:52 AM
What do you think about my current old avatar?

I'm not so fond of it either. I'm tired of it and I'm trying to change it.

I go to View Account, click the "Avatar" button, select an image on my PC and I try to upload it. It won't work. The new image does not show up.

The new image is a GIF file, 80x80 pixels. Should not be a problem. It is 5 kB.

I have enabled Javascript, what else do I need? I tried to enable Frames and Iframes, to no help.

.......
What the heck. I can not post this!
I have to post this using the old Microsoft backup browser. This site does not support Opera? Is Amiga.org using ActiveX?

;-) Maybe you just need to flush your cached images or something.  Try re-loading your page.

:-? Right now I'm seeing your avatar as pencil sketch of a hooded skeleton playing a guitar.  Is that your new avatar or your old one?

I shouldn't need to flush the cache because it's flushed every time I close Opera.

I guess it's a compatibility issue. I was able to post using IE, and I guess I'll be able to change the avatar using IE.
But I changed my mind with the new avatar, I'm looking for another one.
The skeleton playing guitar is the old one.

I also had noticed this problem a while back with trying to upload an avatar. Maybe it is a common occurrence amoung users to have to have the need to try it more than once to get something as simple as that to be uploaded onto the site?

What browser do you use?

The site seems to work better with IE6. It doesn't work too well with Opera.

BTW, my new avatar (Intel inside) is nice isn't it?  :-D
