Hi,
Does anyone remembers that impressive soundtrack theme that was played at Gremlin's Magnetic Fields game intros? I think I could be heard at Lotus I game and several others...
Is that a known theme? Sounds like classical music, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have details?

It's something by Wagner, don't know which piece.

Sounds like a prelude to a funeral march....

Siegfried's Funeral March from Wagner's Götterdämmerung. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6tterd%C3%A4mmerung)

Now that was some pretty fancy detective work! Were you familiar with that piece -D- or did you go on the hunches till you found it? I own and listen to a lot of classical music (mostly Stravinsky & Tchaikovsky) and listen to Public Radio religiously, so the sneaking suspicion was funeral or "death march" to these ears.
I hope the original poster wasn't pulling one over on all of us... theme song from Gremlin being a death march for Amiga and all. LOL! Gremlin made lots of games for other systems... was that particular Wagner piece used on them all?
I remember a very cool and loooong intro classical score from back in the late 80's/early 90's... a middle east game for the Amiga, but not a real time strategy game. It was an action game where you rescued hostages and such. Can't remember the exact name, but I know took place in the mid-east (99% sure anyway).

I knew the piece, but only because it's also used in one of my favorite movies, Excalibur. :-) I'm also a classical (and jazz) guy, but stick mostly to the baroque-era... occasionally venturing out to some Beethoven and Schubert (love Schubert's Piano Sonatas, Lieder, et al).

Fantastic! A truly dramatic theme, very good taste of Gremlin to use it. I still get the chills while earing it.
Thanks for the replies.
