You guys have any suggestions? I am cleaning up an A2000 here, it had multiple zorro cards and the previous owner had put rubber spacers between the boards. These rubber spacers literally melted all over the motherboard. It is now like tar!
Ideas might be helpful :lol:

Must be something about 2000s - I've dealt with two that had similar messes :-)
I had some luck with paper towels, water, and Radio Shack electronics cleaner. Might have had some rubbing alcohol in there, too, since I was cleaning up battery goo at the time.

I have good luck with a product called Goo Gone. It isn't as strong (solvent wise) as some others, but makes short work of various glues, paint, AND melted rubber. It will NOT hurt the PC boards at all. - all around good stuff.
I get mine at the local Office Depot. Hope this helps...

There is a stuff sold in hardware stores that is good for removing chewing gum and old rubber. Its called "goo gone" or something similar.
Tried it on various surfaces, it stinks a bit but its very efficient and wont melt the surface. :)

Thanks for the Goo Gone suggestion guys! I am familiar with Goo Gone, but was apprehensive about using something like that on a circuit board. If you guys have had no negative effects, I'll give it a shot.

Another vote for Goo-Gone. Used it dozens of times for similar projects. Uh-oh, you mean an Amiga 2000 gets so warm that it actually melts rubber? Who would have thunk? lol
Dum da dum dum... DUMB! lol
BTW: after douching it down but good with Goo-Gone, I go over it with some rubbing alcohol - just to get any spurious afterbirth off....

as others have said goo gone works great. If you can find Swish it is the best thing I have ever found geting dust and dirt out of the really small places on circut boards.
