Plenty of good games is available...

A few of them:

Doom
Quake I/II
Alien Breed (3D/I/II)
Duke Nuke'em 3D
NAPALM
Dune I/II

Ehm... And loads of others search google for it or try some of the specific amiga-game sites...

I could sit all night mentioning games.. so I think it's best that you explore for your self...

:-)

Heres two classic PD/Shareware games..

Roketz (Or Magic Roketz) and Brutal Homicide 2. Both require AGA. Brutal Homicide is a 2 player only game though. Both very very fun.

Actually, if you remember the game Wizard of Wor on the C64, theres an AGA game called Monsters of Terror which is similar but with nice modern graphics.

Get these games off aminet! us.aminet.net I think it is.

Speedball 2
Sensible World Of Soccer

Plus many, many, many, many, many more! No joke! :-)

quake3 might come , no one has tried to obtain the liscense yet and i know why.

I.D software is really weird on that area , so unless there comes a GPL of it...(like Q2) then i doubt it will come ..atleast not in the near'st months/year(s)

there are a lot of complex good games out there, but one of my continual favorites has to be ProGammon, which you can download for free off Aminet - that game cheats like I don't know what, but once you've endured playing a computer that cheats like hell, you can beat any human player VERY easily.

This assumes you like backgammon, of course :)

The reason why I say the game 'cheats' is that invariably you are about ready to win and the computer somehow manages to roll 3 double-sixes and put all his pieces in before you at the last second.  There are other examples but this is one of the most infuriating.  Thus you have to be REALLY GOOD (or really patient) to beat the darn thing!

Total Chaos (http://xavprods.free.fr/chaos/index.html) is very very very good,
and multitasks happily.

Top 3 Amiga games in no particular order:

Formula 1 Grand Prix
Settlers
Wings

There are loads but those are the three that always drag me back to my Amiga if I have neglected it for a while.
