Title: need help with gvp 16mb ram
Post by: rednova on April 05, 2009, 04:49:19 PM
Dear Friends:

I have a gvp jaws 030 accelerator for my a1200. One of the memory modules is a gvp 16mb, and the other is probably a gvp 4mb ram. Is it possible to replace the 4mb for another 16mb ram ? will this not screw the 'chip memory' ram ? will it autodetect the second 16mb ram ?
Can I max the 32mb ram and will it recognize the chip mem ?
Thank you !!!!

According to the BBOAH, the Jaws accepts up to 32mb of RAM, so yes - you can max it out if you so desire. With the proprietary GVP 64-pin SIMMS of course (found at Softhut). And as per the norm with A1200 accelerators, the 32-bit ram will autoconfig and not have anything to do with Chip memory (which will always be 2mb on your system).
