Title: anyone using Scalos V41.6 ?
Post by: klx300r on April 04, 2009, 07:23:55 PM
I'm very happy with my OS3.5 install with FBlit and my Indivision AGA on  my 1200 and was thinking of installing the latest Scalos package as it looks cool..BUT I don't really want to mess with the setup I have now....anyone using it? what are your thoughts?

I tried it once and wasted no time and kicked it out of my system aka too many crashes and slow downs. It could be that my system was too overloaded for scalos to sit upon though so, on a vanilla 3.9+bb1&2 installation it might work reliably. Do what Amije said:

backup then try and if fail restore else keep

Is it true that it has been updated recently?

Why don't you use the source (http://scalos.noname.fr)?

This should maybe be updated. I was doing the OS4 port but my role was described in such a cryptic way as I did not want to make false promises. Jurgen has now bought OS4 for Pegasos II and has taken over the port.

In the future I may look at an AROS port but currently I'm busy with other AROS work. Unfortunately I'm mostly occupied by things not programming or computing related.

greets,
Staf.
