Red got me last week with his free shipping...my new Indivision A4000 arrived this afternoon. After packing in the work I'd been doing (it will wait until tomorrow) I took my A4000 out of storage and installed the board.
I hadn't used the A4000 for a bit since I sold theScanMagic I'd been using for it last fall. Boy am I glad I pulled the ScanMagic. It's replacement is MUCH MUCH better!
Installation was simple, the only problem I ran into was putting enough pressure on the board to seat it properly on the Lisa chip. First attempt didn't work, I went back and got the board to pop on and it worked fine from there. Upgraded to the 1.4 firmware and all is good!
Great board, thanks Jens!! Good to have my A4000 back again!!

We demand pictures!
Also what screen mode are you running in (eg HighGFX)?
:-D
-
Didn't think I'd need to do the pictures, not much different than those Jens has available on the web. Looks just about like what I could do...
The only difference is the final board is a standard green. :-D
Haven't really gotten to all the screens. I had the machine in DblHires noflicker with the ScanMagic. Looks even better here. I did have to readjust the text and overscan prefs to get the screen centered properly. I've been looking at software and just can't believe how crisp the color looks.

Not sure what you've got there, but the mass-produced version of the flickerfixer is blue. Now I'd like to see a picture...

Boy, I haven't seen "mass produced" in connection with Amiga hardware for a long time. :-D

Maybe he is color blind. :-?
-
Ha...nope, not color blind!
Just popped open the case and, ok its a blue/green.
The light was dim and I was in a hurry to get the board installed!!!

Anybody know if these work with the Video Toaster?

Two common mistakes in one installation! Always have enough light when working on a computer, and take your time to read instructions, install the thing and to double-check everything before you put it all back together.

It should work, because it is not dependent on any video sync signals. Indivision AGA is purely synced by the inter-chip communication between Alice and Lisa. Since Alice does all the video syncing on a different level, I see no reason why it should not work with a Toaster.
However, I haven't tested it, as I don't own a Toaster. Would be great if someone reported back that my theory is right ;-)

After all this gadgets for classics bring to as a PPC card please!

Yes, I read that in the manual, after I'd installed the board! (Ok, I'm guilty..a manual writer who doesn't RTFM!)

Installation photos plz! hw pr0n is definitely needed :)

ARRRRRR!
they keep making great products for the only Amiga's I DON'T have (YET)!!!! :madashell:
-
Indivision ECS? Yes please. Having an A600 with 4MB of Fast, 2MB of chip, CF harddrive and NIC PLUS a built in flickerfixer would just be cool.
Next question though - how fast (or slow) are the screen updates on the AGA model if I run it at a screendepth of 1024x768 or 1280x1024? I mean, is it still usable or ?
-
Comparable to "PAL:SuperHiRes-Laced" ... not very fast, but "it can be done".
:-)
-
Well, I broke down and bought a Indivision AGA for my a4000 Should be here in a week or so as I ordered it from Amigakit.
I am excited to see it in operation as it supports the Video Toaster as well form what Mathew states on the Amiigakit website.
I cant wait :-D
-
So I am curious to know how you get 1024x768 from this? Just 256 colors?
-
can't speak for the 4000 version but the 1200 Indivision AGA is just so sweeet....awesome product & highly recommend it to all 1200 owners :pint:
-
It appears that the 1200's Indivision is sold out *sigh*. Now that I'm thinking of getting one... ;)
-
How many colors are in the 1024x768 mode?
How many colors are in the 1280x720 mode?
The Indivision .pdf does not say.
The Aminet readme of HIGHGFX does not say.

Both will run at 256 colors (including I suspect the new 1280x1024 extreme mode) BUT performance will suffer. I found that with an 030 1200, 64 colors was the most I could run at using 1024x768 with good performance.

Not for me. It doesn't correctly fit when you have a Lisa made by HP. If I am correct the HP Lisa is slightly (about 0.5 mm) lower compared to the CBM one, making the connection to the Indivision 1200 unreliable at best.
I tried it with two A1200s and the Indivision will not stay on with both of them. It simply fell of the chip, even after applying much pressure (and I mean MUCH pressure). Back to the Scanmagic it was, which luckily fits great and still functions reliably...
Plans are to replace the motherboard with one with the correct (CBM produced) Lisa and hope it will improve the matter.

Indivision AGA 1200 is in stock - if it appears to be sold out, then it's a single reseller who didn't order yet. I have no pending backorders, and I'm pretty sure that my stock won't be sold out too soon.

You are correct about the lower height of the HP Lisa chips, but you are not correct about Indivision AGA 1200 in general not fitting properly. This is only true for the very first production run. Starting from the second production run, the sockets have been modded in order to also hold properly on HP Lisa chips, and it's the third production run in the shops at the moment.
If you have trouble with your Indivision AGA, there's a 2-year warranty on it - this includes your mechanical problems. Please refer to your reseller, he'll handle all warranty issues.

like all other aga-screenmodes
"24 bit" = 16 mio. ( ham8-mode = dpaint, multiview, ... )
8 bit = 256 col. ( workbench )

Great to see that the HP problem is fixed ! thx

Jens, do you (or anyone else) have a list of timing modes that the A4000 would output via this Scan doubler ? (Pal machine)
I am trying to see how my LCD Monitor would react to it, Since it only likes NTSC from my Minimig.
Under PAL Minimig, it freaks out and complains about the sync.
Samsung 943BWX
http://i40.tinypic.com/116n8rn.jpg
It supports up to 1440x900 but they wouldn't be compatible so I didnt include them
-
When will amigakit be shipping the pre-orders?
-
Ah, I should have clarified - I was looking at Amigakit's website and there's not an option to purchase the 1200 one.

If it works with NTSC Minimig, it'll work with Indivision AGA in all standard modes. HighGFX goes a little below the magic 60Hz barrier, but since your monitor supports Vesa 800x600 at 56Hz, there's a chance that you can also use the HighGFX modes. The config tool allows tweaking the number of blank lines, so there's no general list of modes that you can generate with Indivision AGA. The list would just be too long :-)

That explains it - I just got an order from AmigaKit, so they should be shipping fairly soon now. Other orders went out to Vesalia (Germany) and to GGS-Data (Sweden) this week, so the wait (if any) should be short.

Interesting stuff Jens, when i said the monitor Freaks out and complains.., the funny thing is, it DOES actually display the scandoubled PAL minimig, all for about 20 seconds, then I think it realizes something is not quite right, displays 'Out of Range' and shuts the display down.
Enough for me to yell.. "WHY !!!!!!!, You had a picture !!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!"
It could be enough for me to warrant putting my Arxon Doubler for sale and getting a 4000D Indivision.
Then i would have no reason for me NOT to get a Mediator 4000Di. But at AU$435, .... Hmmmm wife would not speak to me for a while.

Now if that's a loss for you, it's easier for the flickerfixer: Lets you connect low-radiation monitors, better for your eyes, lets you see her beauty (without glasses) for so many more years 8-)
Or is she the type that would go for a pink PCB? Maybe I should do more research on the "secondary target group" of my products :-)

I already use LCD's (Mostly), how much more 'Low Radiation' can i get :).
The Samsung in question here, has VGA and DVI input, it already displays my PC.

would this thing be usable in A4000T (AT)?
-
Got my answer - mine was shipped yesterday. How did they know?
-
Two questions about the Indivision a4000,
1) How far does it stick off the a4000 mother board is it less than the chip and fast ram?
2) does it have its own vga connector or does it use the existing a4000 monitor output, if so does a person simply use the standard adapter from the a4000 video out to the standard 9pin vga? or will a sync strainer work?
-
Received my early order from AmigaKit today but too tired to install tonight. Will give it a go tomorrow evening.

Rossi,
It's very low-profile. From my eye it looks like most cards in the bottom slot would have clearance.
The Indivision comes with it's own VGA port and a cable to connect to the Indivision.

< A4000D with Indivision AGA > (http://www.a1k.org/forum/showthread.php?p=233364)
It is possible to use ALL Zorro-Slots with the Indivision AGA.
-
Thanks guys, That helps a lot.
I wonder how long it takes for the indivision to get here in Canada, It was shipped last Friday Apr. 4/09 from AmigaKit.
-
Yay, It arrived yesterday! It fits very nicely and works fantastic! :-D
By the way it also works perfectly with the Video Toaster and looks fantastic on my 17" LCD monitor.
-
Just got mine in and I'll second that it works great with the toaster!
-
Glad it arrived safely. Thanks for the orders!

Got mine two days ago, very quick shipping and well packaged, thanks!
Very happy with the Indivision, rock solid display on my 17" Compaq crt and a breeze to install, easier even than the indy in my 1200...

Anyone had any issues updating the A1200 Indivision up to v1.4 firmware?
I upgraded from v1.3 to v1.4 firmware last night and when I rebooted all I got was a blank screen. No logo, anything. Eventually, I had to use external scandoubler on amiga monitor port to get a display and then reflash to v1.3.
Im back on v1.3 now and everything is fine. But Im wondering if anyone is having issues updating.
-
i'm just trying to justify it to myself that its worth £115... i'm sure it is, but i'm just worried i'll want one for all my machines
-
Awesome and HighGFX driver looks great!
-
@Marcb
Thanks for your purchase from our webstore. Much appreciated.
-
Well I took the plunge the other day and ordered on for my A4000. Now I'm debating one of those new 4060 CPU cards...
