Hi,
I'm looking for some 4 MB GVP 64 pin ram modules, so I can bump my GVP 030 Combo card to 16 MB ram, instead of the 8 MB it has now.
I need 2 x 4 MB modules in working order.
I am aware that the ram is available at Softhut for 34.95 USD a piece, but I am hoping to find a couple of ram modules for less.
PM me if you have some.

I saw a couple of GVP modules for sale on EBay a couple of weeks ago for the bargain price of $30 each. I don't see them now so they might have sold or the listing ran out. Your best bet might be to buy another accelerator in the $100 range that has the ram you need on it, and then after removing the ram you need resell it for close to or hopefully what you paid.

Yep, those were mine and they did eventually sell :-)

Compared to buying a brand new module for 35 USD, the small pricedifference makes it more reasonable to buy new instead of secondhand.

Tried that, only to find out that the card had a 1 MB module rather than a 4 MB module (I worked it out with the seller, so no hard feelings there).
Anyway, it means that I now have 2 boards, and I'm still not maxed out on any of them, hence the reason for this WTB thread; I'd rather just try to buy the modules instead of getting a third accelerator.

On a similar note, if any one needs any 4mb 30 pin simms for a GVP 8+ or similar I've got a couple going spare. I was supprised how hard it was to find them, probably because most people binned them 10 years ago.

Oh... I'd normally agree, but these really were next to new. Few months old was all and actually, one of the two modules I bought were defective and had to be sent back. Not a big deal, but I paid the shipping back to him for replacement. So... there's *some* value there knowing that what was sold was actually TESTED beforehand, $10 less than new for the pair *and* free shipping to boot. That would make it roughly a 25% discount from new, OY! :-P

I thinks Softhut.com may still have them.

I bought one from Softhut roughly a month ago, so it's likely they still have them.
Worked great, of course, brand new product.
