Title: Display / Monitor solution
Post by: Prime on March 09, 2009, 09:43:05 PM
What is the best monitor solution for the Amiga & Commodore?

What would be nice, is a small flat panel monitor maybe a 17" that could display the Amiga, C64 40 column, and C128 80 column.

It would be nice to have video RCA connectors in front..
It would be cool to have a little portable flat panel for taking from place to place...

Is there one like this? Like a 1084s but flat panel?

Is there a way to hook up a standard VGA monitor to a C-128
so one can get the 80 column screen?

I don't know about a C128 but for Amiga use I find that a 4:3 19" flat screen CRT gives the best display.

I've used this product with great success...

I've hooked up a VCR, TI-99/4A computer, etc. using this device.  Basically it converts any composite (RCA) or SVideo output to a VGA display.  So you would just need this and a flat panel display...

I use something quite similar - "TVBox Jet Black 1680ex". Here too the 128's 80 column screen is eluding me (so far).

Whats wrong with this

RGB-VGA (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=50&products_id=183)

Don't know a lot about C64 and C128 but I was reading about this converter over at EAB and they had said that it worked for all things commodore.

Don't know for sure myself and the only other Commodore I have is a Vic20 and its in storage.
