Hi,
I was wondering if there was/is any music software package? I am not sure but I do remember my brother had some software where notes where selected from a menu and then played. Did such software exist for the Amiga?
Regards,

Are you serious?

Deluxe Music, Bars and Pipes, SuperJam!, and about a zillion different trackers should fulfill any music needs.

I am not a musician and therefore have no experience of such software. My girl friend is a musician and would like to give her a surprise and show her that my A500+ can do things related to her work as well. I know Amiga was used a lot for multimedia in the past but I do not know the names of such packages nor do I know if they are still available.

Bars and Pipes can be downloaded for free from the link below:

If you look for something with real notation, good old Aegis Sonix comes to mind.

What do you mean by real notation?

What I am looking for is something like Sibelius ... obviously I know it might not be up to such a standard!

Tsk, if you need to ask
It's the standard method of writing music on paper. The old fashioned way with the horizontal lines and notes all over the place !
I believe I still have a copy of Dr. T's music software somewhere which could convert signals from a midi device into notation :-o Yes, it could also play notated music back on the midi device. I had a bit of fun recording the ex missus playing the midi piano, and then playing it back to her

OctaMED, OctaMED, OctaMED.
Like the TV show.

It seems Aegis Sonix does have real notation (I now understand what this means). Do the others come with real notation support as well? OctaMED, Bars & Pipes, SuperJam, and Delux Music?
btw - just out of curiosity; do you people still use such software? I am here just for the Amiga fun, but I am really interested to know if anyone still uses these machines for work! :)

On my Amiga, from time to time I use tracker-type software: Milkytracker, Hivelytracker, and I'd like to start doing some SID as well with Goattracker. And HDRec when I need to edit mp3s.
