Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...
...I am looking for, and can not find the schematics to build a simple audio/video output cable for my Atari 130XE. I would like to build both a cable for standard RCA output as well as one for S-Video. Anyone got any links to the schematics? I know where to buy them already, so please no links to purchase, I only want to know how to build them myself.
thankx!

there are some other sources too. I built such a cable for my 800xl and 130xe. The 800xl doesn't have the chroma/luma and just has composite from what i remember. 130xe has the chroma/luma so you can make a svideo output for better quality.

Alright, thankx!
So according to this guide:

What connects to what to get the video side working?

Cool, Atari 8-bit, the best 8-bitter :) I was a bit dissapointed when I sold my Atari XL and got myself a Commodore 64.
You can find more info here (http://www.atarimax.com/freenet/freenet_material/5.8-BitComputersSupportArea/8.TipsandTricks/showarticle.php?48) about the s-video cable.
How about something like this (http://home.xmsnet.nl/toto/sio2sd-03.JPG) for your Atari :)
If you still have questions PM me and I'll check the pinouts of my S-Video cable.

I just checked the pinouts and here are the pinouts as seen from the outside of my s-video cable:
pin 1 atari to pin 1 s-video
pin 3 atari to pin 3 s-video
pin 4 atari to pin 4 s-video
Hope this helps.

That would do it...
...but alas, Radio Shaft no longer carries such items except through mail order... BAH!
Well thank you for the info, perhaps some day if Radio Shaft catches back up to speed I'll be able to get the parts I need to build this.

It did make a difference when I connected my 800XL chroma/luma so it looks like there's a signal there.

I think wiring won't work with video wires; need soldering to get it to work as interference seems to set in if you just twist/tape wires around. Better to get an already built converter (svideo<->DIN). Anyone built this without the capacitor?

I build my cable without the capacitor, I've got a very sharp and stable picture on my TFT monitor.
I did however modify my Atari 800XL with some parts of the Super Video upgrade for the XL series.
More info here (http://www.abbuc.de/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2659&highlight=super+video) and here (http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41580&hl=s-video). AFAIK this upgrade is not needed for the XE series.
