Title: MacAmigans get CrossOver software to run WINUAE with out Windows
Post by: MASSAMIGAN on March 03, 2009, 05:31:41 AM
Hello AMIGANS:)

This is for MAC users...forget UAE get "CROSSOVER MAC PROFESSIONAL" from Codeweavers product. I was able to run Winuae 1530 on my Intel IMAC it works great. The only thing that doesn't work is the use of gamepad...it does not reconize it...but I heard you have to download Directx 9.
Anyways other things works fine...like CD rom and Flash cards:)
Go to WWW.Codeweavers.com

I bought this piece of software at MICROCENTER....www.microcenter.com here in MASS USA
It's a very kool piece of software that allow you to run some Windows software without having Windows installed on your Intel MAC:)

Greetings to all "AMIGANS':)

This is very cool! Better would be to get Toni a Mac and get him to produce an OSx version of WinUAE ;-)

CrossOver is a great program.

I never thought to run WinUAE on it, going to have to give it a go!

WinUAE also runs under ordinary Wine, not sure what benefits there is to using CrossOver over Wine for WinUAE.

As far as I know CrossOver use's WINE, so I doubt if there is much difference.

Wine under OSX uses X. CrossOver is completely integrated so that windows from the "os that shall not be named" appear as native windows under OSX. Very neat.
