Title: CrossDOS not crossing
Post by: Stew on September 10, 2003, 06:42:03 PM
I have Crossdos  7.2 gold. I installed a Jaz drive and configured a disk as an msdos one. It can be read and written to by both the pc and Amiga. I tried the same thing with a syquest ez135 and can't get it to work.

The really wierd thing is it will show up as a amigados disk on the Amiga. I can write ot it ect.. but when I put it in the pc drive it shows up as a pc disk that I write to. They don't see each others data though. The stuff I wrote from the Amiga only shows up on the Amiga and the stuff I wrote from the pc only shows up on the pc.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

Stew

Maybe the fat95 filesystem from aminet is a better option?

call me crazy (and you won't be the first one) but this sounds like you have two partitians on the syquest. one is formated PC and the other formated amiga.
or maybe there is something weird with the mount file?

Might be a mountfile problem, but I am using the crossdos make partition utility. The disk shows up as one partition on each system at 127meg space available. It will not format under crossdos. It gives an not validated error. It will format under amigados but that shows a nondos pc partition on the Amiga. If I partition it on the pc it shows up on the pc and as an amigados on the Amiga, and still not validated if I try to format it under crossdos. Am I making any sence or do I sound as confused as I am? Man the Jaz installation went great. Easy and quick way to share files. Much faster than the ethernet that took me forever to get working.
