Check this, they are going to sell one of the C64 prototypes on eBay next month. They think they can get $10000 for it! Realistic? :-?

What irks me, is that CBM can have the best selling computer of all time, then have the amiga and still go tits up!
30 million units shifted.. amazing

Yes it probably could get that much or at least close to it if it keeps getting media attention.
Lots of media attention would be good for me as it would raise more interest in what I have to offer!!:-D

its not amazing , other companies live on UPGRADES , you know...commodore wasnt a small company.
a computer must have more than just that one unit to live on, c64 had this but as many might remeber the prices was too steep and the general userbase didnt see a point in upgrading unless they had to...
commodore made machines before its time , still is , people expect (by todays and the 80's standards) that the computer is crap within a few months and if there aint an upgrade...well then they will jump onto something else , and ofcourse commodore did some major faults in stuff like.
cd32 , when that came...it was a minor success ..
if commodore had'nt gone bankrupt when they did , well then i guess they would have lived on cd32 for atleast that year + 95 , as thats when the actual sales figures went up compared to the titles released..
overall...they produced too many clones (ie a500+ ,a600 , a1500 etc.. ;( )
cheers
pps:greed! is a bad thing if you want a stable market!
