I've used Fat95 for years and never had any problems with it. Supports all the standard MS-DOS FAT formats, along with long filenames and such.

your question is vague ... are you talking about the physical floppy drive ? (cause you're talking about 3.5, 5 1/4 formats) or the device driver for workbench which reads MS DOS floppies ?

Uh, he clearly states he's looking for "...MS-DOS floppy drivers...".

Anyway, consider Fat95 seconded.

FAT95 considered and implimented, thanks. That was the one I wanted!

would there be any benifit to using one of the alternatives to mfm.device for my low-level disk access?

Hi,

Might also be worth checking out XFS (http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/xfs) if you require additional features and/or have some other 3.5" disk formats.
