Hello,
I got hold of a basic unexpanded A3000 with 2MB+SCSI HD's yesterday.
The display is very unstable, flickering a lot (on its own and when I touch the mouse), also small graphics artifacts are left on the screen after mouse pointers and WB-windows.
where should I begin looking for a fix? It has had some battery damage since the battery was not removed and a couple of 74* chips and some resistors have green goo on them, the Paula was attacked too on one leg. The graphics chip is in fine condition though.
Any ideas?

Which display is flickering?
The Commodore side or the VGA side?

Actually I have just tried the Amber VGA side.
Maybe I should try it on my TV too. But I believe the Commodore side is broken too (if I understood the seller right).

Have you adjusted the little tiny potentiometer beside the 15 pin port?
-
Nope, I havent. I should look into it immediately :-)

It was the U203 and U202 chips that was broken. Got replacements and the A3000 is as good as new after a fresh bath with soap and water + some new chips.
