I burn some files from aminet to a cd on the pc, transfer them to the amiga, both a 2000 and a 3000 and I get the same results. CRC errors.
It doesn't matter if I unzip/unarc them I still get CRC errors...
They decompress fine on the pc... but with the long filenames, that is worthless.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

first check the transfer, then HDD and RAM on Amiga.
what type of transfer is it?
-
Do they decompress fine in WinUAE as well?
-
Try copying the files from cd to ram: and uncompress there. Maybe the corruption is happening when writing to disk? maxtransfer setting may need altering?
Also i have found unarc gives crc errors like than, so i tried with lha etc and was fine.

They do not decompress on a hard drive or in ram:
I still got a CRC using WinUAE with similar settings.
It has to be the un- programs I am using...
I was using "LX" do un-lha and using a "unzip" to unzip.
Maybe these are the problems?
Thanks,

Sounds like the tool you are using to compress is using a compression algorithm not available on the Amiga side.
Try freezing the files instead of compressing them:
lha -az filename.lha

I will give freezing a try...
How cool is this? I ask a question and get 3 answers from Amiga people across the world!
Long live the Amiga!
