I have Video Toaster on my A2000 but, it dies with a "Can't obtain Switcher font" message. The font is in the font directory but, I guess something must be wrong with it.
Can anyone send me the switcher font files or failing that the install image ? Perhaps a way to repair the font ?
These directories were just transferred over from another disk where it was working fine. Do I need to do anything special other then copy all the Switcher font files into my new font directory ?

What version of the software are you using?
-
I have no idea actually. It was installed on the hard drive when I got the machine. I ran it a couple times to check out on the other disk but, never noticed the version. The hard drive has since died unfortunately. Its a A2000 running the 3.1 os with the standard toaster not a 4000 if that helps. I would suspect the font files never changed much but, who knows.
-
my guess is that it doesn't work because the hard drive died.

The whole toaster directory and the fonts directory on that disk were transferred to a new drive before that one died. If it got corrupted it got corrupted in the transfer.
There must be something strange about that font. Its a common enough problem with it going bad that its even mentioned in the toaster faq.

Hi,
take care some VT CD were badly made, and you have to use a special floppy disk to install properly the whole VT app from the CD !
-
If you don't already have it why not just buy the 4.3 Toaster Upgrade CD from NewTek?
-
I don't have any actual plans on using it. I really don't want to spend money for a single font file for something I'll never make actual use of. I just want to show that it works. Besides hasn't it been released as opensource now ? This would mean it is free to copy or whatever. I don't want to pay for opensource software. Can someone point me to the disk or cd images ? or just email me the font file ?

I have a couple of Cd's like 4.1 and 4.0 from old toaster releases. PM your info and I'll get you a CD. Newtek does follow through on the Toaster CD's, for your information. They still have actual WORKING flyer setups to boot. Pretty cool.. Best of all they're cool people.
