@ Red,
what are the shipping rates for that SEXY Beast !, to dear old England?
-
Around £60 :-(
-
@browny
It would be very high, but PM or email me your address with postal code and I will get some numbers for you.
-Edit- I have that info at home, but I'm not at home so please PM.

It's such a beautiful package, it's a shame one will not be able to open it... or rather if I had it I could never open it... like a vintage wine... once opened it comes valueless except to the individual user.
I hope, that who ever wins the auction does not open it.. that would be a crime.

my precious... we wantss the precious...
But seriously, wow, I hope that A500 goes to a good home, where it's locked inside an airtight glass cabinet and a little plaque that says "Golden Age of Computing" or some such phrase... ok, ok, maybe a bit melodramatic, but it does deserve to be preserved, I doubt we'll see its like again.
Here's hoping someone who understands its value purchases it!

you are a LUKCY man!! I would sure damn bid on this beast, if you where a little closer :-( Have to pay huge ass taxes to the norwegian goverment, if i buy from outside of norway.. I got an working a500 though, but the tv modulator has died, so i cannot have any other picture than b/w from it.

I want computers to be like the A500/600/1200. An all in one style system, all bundled in a nice box with software and the likes, easy to use.
If a computer like that came out (obviously a lot more up to date) i'd buy one.

I don't know what's worse, this sitting on a shelf somewhere collecting dust, or the seal being broken so someone can get pleasure out of using a new Amiga.
It would be a real hard decision for me to make! I know with my new C64s and 1541s on auction that some buyers do both! They buy one for use and one(or more) for collecting.

This is the same exact 'was my first Amiga' system that I bought! I forget what I paid for it, maybe $850 (including 1084DS monitor)?
Is this an NTSC model or a PAL model?
I'm in NTSC territory, so the only issue I have with an Amiga500 like this is that it came configured as 512k chip RAM, 512k fast ram. The hardware needed to be configured in 1mb chip ram mode to reproduce PAL modes properly, so several floppy disk based games wouldn't boot/run on the A500 (without hacking hardware for 1MB chipram.
sigh.. even the A500 had its hardware bugs in production models :/
good news: The software bundle that came with it was great. DPII , ports of call, and Carmen Sandiego.

Actually I'm working a a PAL/NTSC switch for 512K machines.. We'll see..
