Title: A4000 keyboard problem
Post by: Miloo on January 30, 2009, 05:59:52 PM
Just received my A4000 keyboard but when its plugged into my tower the machine refuses to boot. With the original A1200 keyboard it boots up fine.

The A4000 keyboard is connected to the A1200 mobo by an Eyetech EZ KEY SE adaptor.

Does the A4000 keyboard use more power from the psu as I only have the standard A1200 psu?

See if it boots up with just the keyboard adapter (with no keyboard plugged into it)

If not then it may be that the keyboard adapter is faulty.

It boots up ok with just the adapter and no keyboard.

Try re-inserting the adapter, i have a keyboard adapter for the a600 which doesnt work if isnt inserted just right, try aligning the connector with the pins.

Tried it, the machine just doesn't want to know with the A4000 keyboard plugged in.

Weird, is this the Amiga to AT/Amiga adapter?

Its an Amiga large 5 pin din (A2000, A3000) socket with an adaptor for an A4000 socket.

It appears to be a problem with a 128mb simm I had installed on the SCSI, when I put the 64mb simm back in everything works OK. ;-)
