I just came across an Amiga Laptop some guy in Turkey made and has for sale on Ebay (Item number: 250364564588). It costs a fortune but looks like it is worth it. Great photos. Jule

It's the most hideous thing I've seen since Britney Spears was photographed getting into a car commando style.

I wouldn't call it either a laptop or notebook. Sounde like it's still tethered to a power outlet. My lap isn't that big. Maybe more of a portable benchtop. Luggable is probably the best term. Still, neat idea. But I want an actual laptop/notebook. OS4 on an iBook would rock!

The CD drive install looks good, but that is all that looks good... The screen looks like something from a toy.

I think the guy forgot to put a picture of the "laptop" battery and adapter that comes with it.

It really is pretty portable too since they include:

wow. you just need to screw an lcd display to your a1200 and the value goes to $1500. amazing !
You really think it looks good? Are you the seller? :)

Pretty ugly, but not terrible from a retro point of view. Not worth half the asking price though..

Worst.. conversion.. ever!

I think it's a neat job.
Room for improvement on the power side though.
As for price, it's stiff, but he's probably put a lot of tlc into it.
For parts:
CDROM: Can be found cheap
IDE HACK: Cheap to expensive, I suspect cheap here
Power: From £50 to £100
Screen: From cheap to expensive
Speakers: Cheap
Amiga1200: £50 to 100
Blizzard: About £100
Indivision: About £100
Os39: About £20?
Disk: Cheap
So lets start by saying there is parts for £320 to £420
Then there is work, metal parts, plastic parts and the tlc...
If I built it, I'd be proud too, and asking a lot too.Sure his premium is high. But we do not have to bid.

You guys are rough. I think for a PORTABLE, it's nice. Everything is in one place. Certainly no laptop or notebook.
I've not seen anything else come close yet with such a big screen and speakers, and CD rom.
Decent thing I think

That's great, but it's in no way worth what is being asked for it!

Its quite a neat job from the pics, design is poor though.
Im surely not the only one whos seen his/her collection of floppy drives :-o

I agree, and it's much lighter than my transportable SX-64!

Not TOO bad. Looks ok doesn't it. Takes up a smaller space on the desk too. But I wonder how stung those supports are and if they will eventually snap the case? Well nice effort but keeping your LCD separate makes it easier to use it on your PC, TV, DVD, Games Console etc.
