Maybe this is a silly question, but does anyone
here know if it's possible to use WB in HAM-8
mode? I thought it would be interesting to attempt
web-browsing with a greater color depth.

Hmm... I seem to recall there being a hack that claimed to do this. I had little (no) success in actually accomplishing it, though. Plus, the HAM modes aren't really registerred colors that could be used by any apps, as I understand it. It would only allow you to put a HAM pic in your backdrop, etc...
Check out WBHacksAGA.lha on Aminet under gfx/aga. A quick browse there turned up that file, and I think that was the one I tried. Don't expect miracles from it, though.

Thanks! I'll give it a try, I suppose HAM would
be too slow to be useful anyhow.

It would be slightly slower then 256 colour mode. It uses the same amount of memory it just uses some copper tricks to get the extra colours. It will however look ugly as you'll find a lot of the colours will "fringe" along edges. The first 64 colours will be solid though (in ham8, 16 in ham6) so your window borders should be okay.
I remember when I used to think Ham mode was cool! That was a long time ago!
