Title: Amiga UnRar 3.x problems
Post by: AxE on September 07, 2003, 10:28:59 PM
i cant seem to get any version of unrar 3 to work on my amiga (A1200 060 32mb os3.1&dopusmagellan2) first of all its not possible to extract to the root of a drive it tries to extract to DH0:/filename. I can list the files in the archive but when i try and extract them specifying the directory DH0:filename/ it creates the directory but then stalls and says its run out of memory, this even happens on a 700kb file! seeing as i have 32mb thats a little strange. Could it be something to do with the fact that memory on a blizzard board isnt named?

Im using amiga unrar 3.10 from rarlabs http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm (http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm)

Try getting unrar from:

http://amiga.sourceforge.net/

Then, unrar e [file] [destination] and voila ;-)

nope, still doesnt work. 3.20b3 gives an fpu exception error in addition to saying it doesnt have enough memory

Hi...

the path problem can be fixed adding a dot to the end path.

anyway, keep in mind that UnRAR v3.x series need a lot more memory the oldest ones,(specially to decompress text), due the new compression algorithm..

try to use the version I have uploaded just now to my website. it is the v3.20 (non-beta) compiled without ixemul, but I assume you still need more memory...

Kind Regards.

thanks for the update but im afriad this version is even worse i cant even list the cli cmds twice without it crashing, listing an archive also gives a 80000004 error
