Title: mxtx files

So I jump for joy after finding that somebody has finally uploaded the Darkseed soundtrack, and then I discover it's in ".mxtx" (MaxTrax) format.

Any freeware players for windows that will handle mxtx format files? Winamp/ModPlug don't recognise them...

Investigation has lead me to believe it might be part of the "Music-X" tracker?

In case it might be of help to anyone, deliplayer2 managed to play them just fine.
