I love my clunky old A2000 and soon I'll be done getting it back up and running. At the same time as rebuilding it, I've been building a couple of new PCs for my home network, and it occurred to me - wouldn't it be nice (and quite a challenge) to build a brand new Amiga from scratch, using as few "vintage" parts as possible. In essence a whole, spanking new machine built on Amiga specs, protocols and hardware, but cobbled together by me, and not purchased whole from some vendor. Can it in fact, be done? Would I be able to find a brand new motherboard (not necessarily a classic A1000/2000/3000/4000 board, however one would be nice!) and all shiny brand new components? How would I begin? Which platform should I use? OS? I'd really love to make this imaginary, mythological machine of my own making my main computer, with which to replace the current PC I'm using! Help me out - how would I start?

EFIKA + MorphOS
SAM440 + OS4
x86 board + AROS
Those are the only options for new hardware.

ya forgot:
MiniMig + Amiga OS 1.0 through 3.1
(3.5 and 3.9 require 020+, right?)

Oh yeah! Of course! The only brand new classic hardware, unless you include NOS A1200s.
