I'm trying to FORCE update an empty FLASH on a BPPC, but it refuces to FLASH it. The installer says That it finds a correct processor, but with unknow speed and then refuses to flash because of the unknown speed.
Anyways to get around this? Can I tell by hand that what speed it is?
-
I think there is not much you can do... how did you end up with an empty flash?
-
IIRC you have to specify the speed of the PPC CPU.
If a 160 MHz CPU it's Blizz040PPCUpdate 160 FORCE or something like that. It's all in the docs.
-
Thank you very much I will try on Sunday and I will read the docs. There wasn't just anything mentioned about this in the install how to...
I take it that I have to write there what speed I'm running it and not what speed the processor actually is?
@keropi
I bought this card as broken. Noticed that the flash was missing so I bought a new chip for it and soldered it back. It seems to be that the card isn't totally broken as the installer is able to gather some information.
-
no way ... thats an "update".
For a "full re-flashing", a custom programmer (with the whole flash data) is required.
-
Oh well I can do that as well. Just have to get a tsop adapter. Is there a way to extract the full data from a working card with an A1200? Or do I have to read the chip with my prommer?

@Painkiller:
what programmer are you using to do that?
What *ROM chip is used? Did you buy it new?
