Title: 2 GFX Boards
Post by: lorddef on September 06, 2003, 05:11:39 PM
Does anybody have/has anybody tried 2 graphics cards in their amiga at one time, is it possible and is there any point?

Sure  :-D
Works with both CGX and P96.

You may want to try this (http://skleinheinrich.bei.t-online.de/SpringMaus.lha) (warning early beta).

Yes, See profile, because the on board ff/sd failed on the PicIV and nobody around to repair it, I picked up a Spectrum and Apollo ff/sd for Amiga and not so fast CGFX screens and luckily have had no problems "hot" swapping between the two. Next up is to pick up a good 19" flat screen and use the switch function on CGFX4 to swap cards.

I have used my AGA and BVision at the same time before. Does that count?

Yes, I've used Voodoo3 and CV64/3D at same time on my a1200 (ZIV+MediatorZIV). And I have also AGA display on TV, so I can play games or watch demos from it while WB & other stuff is visible on monitor.
We had once two PicassoIV:s on our university's a4k and played dynAMIte with two monitors and two joysticks and one computer :)

Works fine,
Got three in my A4000T
I use 4 monitors

2 * 17in (CVPPC,CV64)
1 * 14in Multisync (CV64)
1 * 14in (CM833) AGA

Often hard to find where the mouse pointer went.
