Title: X-Surf ethernet card
Post by: KatManDEW on January 12, 2009, 01:05:00 AM
The X-Surf ethernet card looks like it has a BNC connector. My network uses RJ45 connectors. Can I still use the X-Surf ethernet card?

Yes, but you'll a 10base2 to 10baset media adapter. The newer X-Surf cards have 10baset/RJ45 tranceivers/connectors.

IIRC, ALL of the X-Surf cards have a BNC and RJ45 connector on them.

Nope, newer revisions don't -- they only have a RJ45 connector (at least the rev. 3)

Come to think of it, ISTR my 3cc missing the bulky BNC connector.  Thanks for the brain shake.  At the very least, they all have the RJ45, so the OP will not need any kind of converter to use with his network.
