Hello Amigan's! I have a A2000 with GVP 68030, Flicker Fixer, and Picasso (I don't even remember what the Picasso was used for). I used a NEC Multisync with the Flicker Fixer, but my Multisync is gone.
Are there any other monitors that will work with the Flicker Fixer, and what is the Picasso used for?

Are you sure you didn't pick this up from a garage sale and you're trying to find out if it's worth something ;-) ?
The Picasso is a retargetable graphics card which outputs at VGA frequencies. Your flickerfixer doubles the 15KHz screen up to VGA frequencies.
The p2 has a passthrough on it that automatically switches when it is in use: you should have a cable from the output of the flickerfixer into the p2, then connect your monitor to the P2.

No, I didn't pick it up at a garage sale. I started with a A1000 back in the day, and upgraded to the A2000. I just haven't looked at any of my Amiga stuff for a very long time, and I couldn't remember what the Picasso was for.
So I can connect any VGA monitor to the Picasso output?

first you have to install a RTG library like Picasso96 (available from Aminet) and choose a VGA compatible screenmode. (if you haven't done this already in the past)

I had an old Gateway monitor in the garage, and I tried it and it works! I have the Flicker Fixer connected to the input on the Picasso, and the monitor connected to the Picasso output.

not exactly: the flicker fixer de-interlaces interlaced video output so it stops flickering. A scan doubler increase the frequency of non-interlace video screens eg PAL 15 khz (most PAL games )to 31.5 khz VGA enabling standard VGA monitors to display them. if you have a non-interlaced screenmode go through the flicker-fixer it still won't show on a standard VGA monitor.

I'll bite: find a flicker fixer with a 15KHz output.
(I was keeping things simple... But I've never seen a flicker fixer with a 15KHz output so would love to be educated! :-D )

?? Not sure if you meant to type that, but yes if you have a non-interlaced screenmode a flicker fixer will still up convert it to display it as 31khz VGA. (obviously it doesn't need to de-interlace non-interlaced it as it is already.)
Or at least mine does. I don't know what the purpose of a "flicker fixer" (an actual piece of hardware) for the Amiga would be if it only let you use Interlace screens on VGA just so you'd then have to switch back to composite for all Non-Interlaced screens???
