You could try here for mediator info http://www.amiga-mediator.co.uk/ (http://www.amiga-mediator.co.uk/)

And you can get some software downloads here http://www.vgr.com/mediator/software3rdparty.shtml (http://www.vgr.com/mediator/software3rdparty.shtml)

I'm sure i've had listed using pciinfo. I've got a few anyway, just havn't had much luck getting anyb further with it. As i said I've got a cable modem sat doing nothing, so I would be gratefull for any info getting my amiga to work with this (NTL) I'll keep an eye on those other posts too.

Right I've used genesis to do this so far:

My amiga and my mates PC are connected to the hub, and he can ping my i.p. I tried setting a temporary i.p address so I can access the NTL page as someone suggested in another post but that doesn't work, I also tried this on the PC but that didn't work either. The thing is im not sure if the modem/cable is still online cos we should have been cut off ages ago, but after the phone was disconnected we still had about a years free internet, but it hasn't been used since my housemate moved out. When everything is connected, the two lights representing my amiga nd the PC are lit on the hub, the cable, PC, power lights are lit on the modem, and the data light flashes intermittently (random), as does its light on the hub (I'm connecting the modem to the hub via a connector with what i believe represents a 'swapped pair' type symbol, using a normal ethernet cable. is this right?Connecting it to any other port does nothing)

Also, although I can run genesiswizard, and genesis RA, when I try to run genesisprefs I get the picture as it loads then nothing. I tried reinstalling but that didnt help.

So many problems, dont know whats to blame (probably everything)

Any ideas or should I get hold of Miami? :-?

@detz

You have the GenesisPrefsRA or the MUI one?

IIRC GenesisPrefs RA come with BB-2 of OS3.9

Ciao

PS-if you are using the MUI version, check with SnoopDos, if there are some missed MUI class.

pciinfo always lists hardware...

that doesnt mean it will work though.

what other hw do u have on the mediator?

as i am pretty sure u need to have a gfx board if you plan to use a ethernet card , has something to do with dma afaik! ..

i own an mediator , soi will help as soon as you cleared that out , anyway i also have adsl and there was no probs setting it up either..

3 lines i had to enter and i was flying high.

cheers

Yep got a voodoo 3. My friend can ping me so I think my network card is working right. I'm using the genesis that came on the 3.9 CD. This isn't the first time this modem has been used, so do I need to find out what ip address my friend (who originally had the modem on his PC) was assigned by NTL?

Yeah, maybe I don't have some of the MUI stuff, I'll download latest archive and see if that fixes it. And the boingbags just to make sure.
