Is there appletalk for Amiga? Got some Os 7 and os 9 machines i wan my amigas to access?
-
It may just be better to use Ethernet, a much nore reliable standard. Appletalk was a pain to setup and deploy consistently even on Macs, at least for me it was. I gave up and stated using ethernet in 1995.

Im thinking of appletalk over ethernet...The protocoll...since there is no samba for os7 and 9 appletalk is the way to go

;-) If I recall correctly, there was Dave, which ran on MacOS9, and allowed one to access SMB share on Windows networks. If you can find it, you might want to give it a try.

There's this thing (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?product=doubletalk&company=&amiga=&intf=&mid=&base=dec&pid=), but it might not be capable enough.

According to this page (http://software.techrepublic.com.com/abstract.aspx?docid=646413) there is a port of Samba for Mac Classic. You have to subscribe to the site to see any more info, but it might be useful to you.

If you have a *NIX machine punting around, it's probably most convenient/least painful to use netatalk (http://netatalk.sourceforge.net/) and export the mounts via samba. (It's been a while, I haven't confirmed that this is possible but believe it should be.)
In fact, if you have an OS X machine punting around, there's probably an even easier native way to mount the legacy machines.
