I,m just wondering how much interest the Sam and Os 4.1 has generated in Australia. How many Aussies out there have purchased a Sam mobo and how many are likely too?
I,ll kick off by saying I,ve got one and am very happy with it. I reckon there would be less than 25 in the whole of OZ Lets see! :-D

Not after the disaster in the stock market, I'm just about ready to cash out of the whole retro scene to try and salvage some of my retirement dreams...
What if the Amiga bubble bursts and suddenly the thousands of dollars of Amiga hardware I have falls to true value? They don't even make half pennies anymore...

I think you can count me in as getting one eventually :-) The SAM seems very interesting, and I think it would be very enjoyable to own and use one. Plus the idea of possibly completely replacing my PC sounds great!
The problem at the moment is justifying the cost and the best way to pay for one. I am not saying it is too expensive - the cost is relative and it costs what it costs. But, do I need to sell some of my other gear first? Save for it? Rob a bank? ;-)
Only 25 SAM's to Australia? It'll be interesting to find out!

if it was cheaper i might consider it, but i wasn't impressed when i seen one live,
crashed when copying from USB harddrive to HD and took about twice as long to boot as i thought it would. Also would of been nice to see it demomonstrated by someone who was familiar with OS4 :-(

All very interesting guys. To the guys who were not impressed by the demo you have to remember that the software is still in Beta. Speaking for myself everything I thrown at it (figuratively speaking) works and works well
Yeh I would agree at the moment it is a tad expensive owing to our poor performing dollar which is slowly on the rise but owing to this and the low volumes in production I can't see it getting any cheaper. As for my wild guess at less than 25 in the whole of OZ well I hope I,m wrong on that one. If I may finish with this remember when the Amiga one came out? It came into the world running Linux if I remember rightly, and the first couple of releases of OS4 had a few probs as well which were eventually fixed so dont be too disheartened Go for it and enjoy.
Seeya :-D

Too many things it can't do for the price they unfortunetely have to charge to make the things.
@Mihcael: The guy demonstrating it kinda hid it away over there next to a wall. Wasn't much standing room behind him. He was asked when setting it up to set it up the other way so people could see OS4.1 on a SAM in action and he answered people can see it fine, pointing to the case with the sam motherboard.
