Hi,
Does anyone know how can I get the latest drivers for my Elbox Powerflyer IDE controller?
I purchased the controller some months ago on eBay and it came with a floppy containing the drivers for an A4000. As I didn't know whether the drivers were the latest for my A1200, I followed the instructions of an Elbox .readme document to subscribe via e-mail to the software upgrade service from Elbox (an e-mail containing -among other info- the S/N of my controller)
I sent the e-mail on 04/12/2008 and I still haven't been sent the latest drivers.
I wrote a complaint e-mail on 11/12/2008 addressed to support@elbox.com and copied to "sales" and "info" departaments but no news from them...
What more can I do to get the latest drivers for my controller??
Thanks in advance.
Manel.

This is very stnage..All the time when i sent mail to support@elbox.com got answer in day or two.. Last driver I get from Elbox before month or two..maybe is holidays?!

Same with me. I don't understand why they don't put one area easy accessible in the site. For who will be useful the drivers? It's obvious that only who have the Elbox hardware need and want the Elbox drivers.

I agree with you.
If they want to avoid spreading of their drivers, it would be very easy to program a page to let you download the correct drivers once entered the S/N of the controller in a text input field.
I think the drivers for these controllers (Powerflyer, Powerflyer Gold, Fast Ata ...) should be on Aminet.

It could be that your emails are getting eaten by a nasty spam filter :(
Yep they would do the right thing if they would openly release their drives.

Hello Manel,
Yes I agree with you 100%. I have an Elbox mediator PCI card for my A4000T. They don't answer back unless you abuse on Amiga forums (which I did) then they give you the latest driver. Elbox wants you to buy the latest drivers on cd. Which I think is crap, you bought the hardware, the updates should be for free.
Thanks in advance,

there also a problem with the Elbox EIDE Bvision fix ( socket riser ) when first released, the sockets were ROUND now it seems there are sold with FLAT pin socket riser.
the problem is when you install the riser socket flat pin type if you remove it a few time it will go H\R.
the round pin seems better as it dont go H/R so quickly after it's remove a few times.
SOLUTIONS:
(1) if you insert a flat pin type socket into the A1200 motherboard ROM socket it maybe a good idea to glue the socket in place if you plan to use Bvision at all time or have spare sockets ( not recommended).
(2) using round pin type is better but will open up the A1200 ROM socket,so if you return A1200 roms chips back into the A1200 motherboard ROM socket may lead to problems but so-far this has been ok and have found no problems doing this (recommended).
(3) changed the A1200 motherboard rom socket from flat pin type to round pin type, this also has a advantage. if 1 or 2 pins go H/R or faulty you can change each pin without changing the whole socket (recommended).
(4) if you plan to never use a Bvision, the best solution is to remove the A1200 rom socket and solder the Elbox EIDE direct (recommended).

Actually, once you have bought the MMCD (which you pay for when you buy your Mediator), the updates ARE free. I've had several and I didn't need to abuse them in forums.
Simply register your S/N as instructed, or send a polite email to the mail-list (Amiga-Mediator@yahoogroups.com) and they will respond there.
They do have a vicious spam filter - anything not known by them is rejected.

Spam filters are like a cyber-communism
Penalise the many to stop the few.
I'm thinking of getting a Mediator in the new year so quite interesting to hear its a pain in the jacksy to get driver updates..
