I just got my new A1200 working and I am confused as to the problems I am having with specific games. Worms, Alien Breed 3D, and Aladdin all run fine except for what they display. When they are played, I can see the games but they are displayed in greyscale with lines throughout the picture. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Info if needed:
Amiga 1200, Standard 2mb ram, CF HDD. Basic out-of-the-box model from Amigakit.

Maybe it is a PAL/NTSC problem. Most Amiga games that came out were PAL and didn't work properly on NTSC monitors.

I had a feeling it was something about that. Now its just a matter of finding NTSC versions of these games.

That could be difficult.
What are you using to view the games?

A 5 month old 40 inch 1080P LCD HDTV.

Well you should be in luck then :-D
Grab yourself a Indivision (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=821) and then plug it into your TV's VGA input and no more NTSC/PAL issues.

Unfortunately im not THAT desperate yet. Its 177 bucks Canadian and I have already spent 477 on Amigakit in the last 2 weeks. heh.

I think your problem is that the A1200/4000 is not compatible with A500/2000 games in many, many cases! My simple "Star Wars" game (you know, the vector graphics game) works perfectly on my A500, but on the A1200 the screen is all garbled, with horizontal lines through it, etc. In all, about a third of my games will not work on my stock A1200. It was a disappointing discovery. -Dave

Im guessing that was pointing to the fact that Amiga tends to be a money vacuum... lol. Its been worth it.

Then just edit the icon on WHDload (I suppose you are using it), putting a new tooltype on it: NTSC.
Check if the screen fits.
