I’ve just downloaded the wmvaros VE version to have a look in a wmvplayer. Are going to install it natively on an x86 over Christmas with the wmvaros live cd. The new version has lot of improvements, the most striking is the new great look with the icons. Among other things, in the prefs drawer is a script called wmvaros that easily turns on and of the startmenu(dock) (plus other things) if one will use it without the dock. And there is the new semi transparent euae config that works with the amigaforever cd for easier install. PDF can be viewed now. Plus many more improvements. Backgrounds and window color are changed in the wanderer that’s also found in the prefs drawer. Themes, change the window borders and menus and require a reset.
There have been high activity over the past months. The browser is imminent but didn’t make it to this release and a spread sheet is in the pipe. It s almost unbelievable but very soon an Amiga OS will be usable for everyday tasks on nearly free x86 hardware.
I would like to thank all people that have made this possible and wish all a merry Christmas. I also wish to wish the Morphos team good luck with the mac port, and the AmigaOS people good luck with the trials and tribulations of the trial. Hope everything works out on all fronts during 2009. Let’s hope that 2009 is the year with big Y for Amiga OS’s. Long live all flavors of Amiga.
:-)

So what is the browser status? I know that Traveller was abandoned by it's original author. What comes with WmvAros and what's in the pipeline?

OWB is currently being ported and progress is going quite well. See screen shot here: http://sszymczy.rootnode.net/pictures/AROS_OWB.png

Browser?
It comes with a Webkit Launcher! (Traveller WIP)
OWB will be here sooner then later!

OWB is Webkit driven but the screenshot looks a lot like Traveller when the developer walked away.
When do you project that OWB will be available and what comes on the iso today?

1st of all, thanks for good words about VmwAROS 1.0.
A quick list of latest updates is here (http://vmwaros.blogspot.com/2008/12/vmwaros-version-10-released.html). A more focused fact sheet is available in the PDF press-release (http://www.paolobesser.it/aros/vmwaros1PR.pdf).

Not yet, I guess, but ...

...you can still play MPEGs and AVIs if you have a supported audio card.
