Title: Voodoo hoodoo!
Post by: dbrads on December 16, 2008, 05:21:15 PM
Greetings fellow Amigans,

 After months of trying to configure my Voodoo 3000 in my A1200 with Mediator I have finally reached this stage...

The Setup and configuration all seem to work fine, the system can see it and in screenmode prefs it is listed as an option but when I test the screen mode on a VGA monitor the screen is as the pic below.

[img=http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/2751/vgascreenuw6.th.jpg] (http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vgascreenuw6.jpg)

I have tried two different monitors with the same result  :cry:

So, is it the Voodoo, the Mediator or the software????

Please help!

Just to cover all the bases, you tried it in other slots right?  What else do you have running on your Mediator?

Could be that the mode frequencies are not right for your monitor... also, try deleting the screenmode.prefs file (system will then boot into a default PAL or NTSC mode) and try again.

Good luck!

I'd bet you need to push the mediator in the passthrough more firmly. That's what causes this to my miggy anyway. Just to be sure check your voodoo on a pc to see if it's ok, but I believe it's what I told you: push!

Thanks for the replies,

 J-golden, I have removed everything from the mediator so there is only the Voodoo, I have tried all the slots.

 -D-, I have tried two monitors, both the same.

 Vulture, I have done this already, but if you say this was the reason your system had problems I will try again with a bit more care!

KTF...

@dbrads

If you use Fblit or similar remove it.

I had all sorts of problems installing the voodoo5 in a mediator, turned out skipping the manual part described in the documentation did the trick. But i dont know if its the same for a voodoo3

Babe with the power :)
(Glad that someone got the reference :D)

On a more helpful note: Try and older version of the Mediator disk, I had to do that to get my voodoo 3 working on a Mediator ZIV
